We are thrilled to announce our Member of the Month, Jaclyn "JJ" Chinnock, whose dedication and passion have made an indelible mark on our community and beyond. A powerhouse of energy and commitment, JJ embodies the spirit of volunteerism and community service in every aspect of her life.

As the wife of a dedicated volunteer and a mother of three, JJ seamlessly balances her family commitments with her full-time job and her active participation in the Polk County Fire District's volunteer program. She is not only a resident of the community but also a cornerstone of support for many initiatives. Her involvement in the District's adopt-a-highway cleanup, holiday parties, and pancake feeds showcases her unwavering dedication to community service.

In addition to her fire district activities, JJ and her family are actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, fostering leadership and outdoor skills. Her adventurous spirit shines through her participation in events like the Mud Run and Waterball, and especially in the Portland Firefighter Stairclimb. This year, JJ is once again taking on the challenge of climbing 40 floors to raise money for Blood Cancer United, demonstrating her commitment to causes larger than herself.

Before becoming a volunteer firefighter, JJ was integral to the support team, ensuring that the necessary water and supplies were always ready for any unexpected events. Her organizational skills and attention to detail were invaluable assets to the team. Furthermore, JJ served as the secretary on the P1FFA Board, contributing her leadership skills and dedication to guiding the organization.

In July 2025, JJ reached a significant milestone by graduating from the firefighter academy. Her journey from support team member to firefighter is a testament to her determination and passion for the fire service.
